Dave Helgesen

Co-founder, Spark & Scale · Founder, Lone Wolf Hardscapes

Built in Kelowna. Learned on the job.

David “Dave” Helgesen grew up in Kelowna and still calls the Okanagan home. For him, a finished patio or retaining wall is part of the community he grew up in. That makes the work personal—and gives him a reason to care about what carries his name.

He founded Lone Wolf Hardscapes around quality work, fair treatment and taking responsibility for the finished project. Building that company also taught him how much there is to running the business beyond the jobsite.

He spent six years learning things he wishes he had known from the beginning: how to put the right foundations in place, build practical systems and make decisions with a clearer picture of the business. That knowledge arrived through experience. He does not want the next owner to spend the same years figuring it out alone.

Spark & Scale is his way of passing those lessons on. Dave brings the perspective of someone who has been on the jobsite, carried the responsibility of ownership and learned why good work needs a well-run business behind it.

Together with Luke, he helps owners combine real business experience with useful technology—so they can start with more clarity and build with more confidence.

Luke Howe

Co-founder, Spark & Scale · Co-founder, Ridge View Marketing

Make technology work for your business.

Luke Howe is a 20-year-old entrepreneur and co-founder of Ridge View Marketing, helping Okanagan businesses build their online presence through websites and digital marketing. He is also the youngest honouree in Kelowna’s 2026 Top 40 Under 40.

At Paper Trail, he helped turn an idea into a real business: giving discarded books a second life as fire bricks. The Enactus Okanagan College venture won the Canadian Tire Environmental Sustainability Challenge at the 2025 Enactus Canada National Exposition.

Through Ridge View Marketing, Luke has worked on websites for local businesses, including Dave’s Lone Wolf Hardscapes. He brings that hands-on experience together with a close interest in AI tools and modern business systems, always asking: how can this make life easier for the owner?

At Spark & Scale, Luke works alongside Dave to teach the technology side of building and scaling a business. His goal is to help owners understand their tools, put better systems to work and feel confident using technology as they grow.

Who is this for?

Spark & Scale is built for new and early-stage service-business owners in British Columbia: tradespeople, landscapers, cleaners, independent professionals and people turning a skill into a business. If you are already operating, we start by reviewing what you have.

What does the $997 include?

The six foundations shown above: business setup assistance, a starter brand, digital identity, financial setup, customer communication materials and a personalized launch playbook. We confirm your exact scope before work begins.

Is a website included?

A website is an optional $500 add-on. It includes a branded, mobile-friendly one-page site with your services, service area and a quote-request form. The launch package plus website is $1,497 CAD before applicable taxes and separate third-party costs. Website hosting is $25 CAD/month, plus applicable taxes. Domain renewal and email are separate; ongoing content changes are quoted before work begins.

Are government fees and subscriptions included?

The package price covers our setup work. Government filing fees, domain registration, email, accounting software and other third-party subscriptions are separate unless specifically included in your written scope. We give you an itemized estimate before you commit. Costs depend on your registrations and software choices; we do not bundle an unverified allowance into the price.

How long does the setup take?

Our target is 2–4 weeks after your intake, deposit and required account access are complete. We confirm your schedule before starting. Name approvals, third-party verification and waiting for your feedback may extend it; we keep you updated on what is ready and what needs your input.

How do payment and brand revisions work?

We take a 50% deposit once you approve the written scope, with the remaining 50% due before final handover. Your starter brand includes three initial concepts and two rounds of refinements to your selected direction. A new direction or extra revision rounds are quoted for approval before additional work.

Do you handle every licence, permit and tax requirement?

We help with the agreed business registrations and give you a personalized checklist for remaining requirements. Municipal licensing, insurance, banking and industry-specific approvals may require separate action. We provide setup and administrative support; legal, tax and accounting advice belong with qualified professionals.

Will I own my accounts and brand files?

Yes. Your domain and business accounts are set up in your name wherever the provider supports it, and your final brand files and launch documents are handed over in an organized folder. We use invitations or authorization where available. Never send passwords or government identification through the inquiry form.

Can you help if I have already started?

Yes. Tell us what you have and where things feel unfinished. We will review the fit and agree on a useful scope before you commit. Existing bookkeeping cleanup, custom integrations and ongoing marketing are separate from the launch package.
